The Stupidity of Intelligence

A swallowed penny chokes an infant's throat,
so mother pours acid down after in her attempt
to dissolve the metal and save her child.
The results, I'm sure, you can figure.

So it is with fast and dirty intelligence.
Lacking in sati, it's thoroughly entangled so
stupidity suddenly mangles ones knowledge.
Should sati arrive in time, it's safe.

Stupidity is found in pañña, if sati is lacking.
Then foolishness reveals itself, have no doubts,
killing its owner, destroying and ruining.
Better be mindful, all of you who are intelligent!
