Possessive
– Anxious – Ensnared*
Jealous of something only because of
clinging,
heart possessively guarding all around until dizzy,
stretching to breaking by fondness and jealousy,
kept alert frightened all night and all day.
Anxiety is the natural fruit of our
possessiveness.
Whoever worries also grieves and forces himself
to go on with life halfheartedly, as a zombie.
Stop worrying — the heart opens refreshed and joyful.
Ensnared with worries in the Great Web of
Samsara,
endlessly recycling through the three stages of
reactive emotion, egoistic action, and their fruits.
Possessions, Worries, and Snares torment eternally!
Samsara, the seemingly endless
cycles of egoistic birth and death.
* Three Thai words pronounced huang,
differing only in tone.
Needless to say, this is untranslatable.
